November Challenges

This morning I woke up and we didn't have any electricity.  The electrical company had warned us that our block would be off line from 8 am to 5 pm ... so that meant no internet, no PC ... so I decided to tackle a layout that I had been thinking about making for 2 days now!

It's actually a 2 in 1 layout ... as over on the Memories Trend forum, this month, we are challenged to use stitching!  Secondly, on the UKScrappers forum, this weekend, starting tomorrow we are having an on-line crop, and as a Pre-Crop challenge we had to do a layout with 'home' theme.

So I came up with this:

As you can see, it's all about what HOME means to me, and it's all about the people in my life.   I just love this photo taken last year during Christmas of Myself, Mom and my two nieces Katerina and Sofia.

The paper I've used is from a paper pad that I picked up locally, called Tiffany from WeRMemory Makers.  Just love the bright colours ...

I've stitched the title which is from the July Unity stamps kit:

... adding stickles to the heart in 'home' and a small brad for the word heart!

I've stitched the roof, and the sides of the house using Bazzil thread, and their Granny stitches templates.

For the tree, I've painted a chipboard branch that was part of a Sarah's Cards kit ... with Adirondack paints  and have used BG Mellow, cut in a Nestibility and inked for an added green touch!  The flowers are small primas, brads and have drawn the stem and leaves.

As for the door, it's something again that I picked up locally, and thought that I would use.  It's from an Italian company called Stamperia, and I don't think they had scrapbooking in mind!  It opens up, so I've included details of the layout under it ... again painted with Adirondack inks.

It looks better live, as there are quite a few 3D elements to it, the photo is under the striped paper, and it's like a window opening ...

I hope to be able to take part this weekend in the crop.  We've got guests here, and I have errands that need to be done over the weekend, so I'll have to try my best!!

Cards Galore

This weekend, I managed to make 3 cards ... I love this origami technique and it's a nice way to use up those busy pattern papers that I never know how to use on a layout ....

I've blurred out the greeting as they are intented for three friends who I know follow this blog! ;)

I've used Papermania flower/fairy series ... bazzil, unity stamps, magnolia stamps, shaker stickers, ribbons and lots of inking ....

I plan to make a pdf tutorial with the card design and maybe even a video if and when my friend Irini comes over .... Irini ..... are you there??? :)

Happy November - Καλό Μήνα

1st of the month, and as it's only 13*C in Galatsi, and the montain tops that I see have snow on them, it's Winter in the air!  So I thought it was time for a Blog remake again!

Have a bit of patience and it will be working again within the day ...

I'll also have something special for my Greek readers to share!!

So have a happy Sunday, and a good month!

Another summer layout!

This layout was so much fun to do ....
again I've used Sarah's Cards February Kit ...
I've distressed and inked the edges around ...
I've stitched the scallops and used that as a line to write my journalling ...
I've used a Magnolia stamp and coloured it in with my Promarkers ...
I've stamped and embossed the title ... it's a unity stamp from the October kit.

Watching the girls this year learning how to jump rope was truly inspirational ...
they bring so much inspiration to my life!

Memories Trends October Challenge

The weather outside is frightful, and I'm enjoying an evening of scrapping ...
I finished this layout, for the October challenge for Memories Trends ... the challenge was to use buttons.

I've used my February kit from Sarah's Cards. Pink Paislee the Sweet Cakes collection.
The blue tape under the buttons, and the journalling date is Prima Harmony tape ...
the stamps are from my October Unity club kit ... I've inked everything, and have tried to keep it simple ...
